A limousine that once belonged to John Lennon is to be auctioned and is expected to sell
for up to £500,000. It is a white Mercedes-Benz 600 Pullman (Limousine) with a black
velvet interior which was exclusively designed for the ex-Beatle in 1969. Four years
later, in 1973 he sold the car to George Harrison who in 1975 sold it to Mary
Wilson (Supremes).
Among the other 110 lots available at the auction organised by Fleetwood Owen (Mick
Fleetwood's auction house) are two hand-written poems by Jim Morrison (Doors)
expected to fetch £2,500 each, letters written by Elvis Presley, George Harrison
and Paul McCartney, a Czech Trabant car which is similar to the one on the cover of
U2's Achtung Baby and a piano which was kept in John Lennon's apartment
until 1979.
