Estonia won the 46th Eurovision Song Contest last night in Copenhagen. Tanel Badar
and Dave Benton won with their song Everybody. They got themselves 198
points.
Denmark was close to winning most of the way through but came second with Never Ever Let You
Go by Rollo and King who got 177 points.
It is the first time that Estonia has won the annual contest, next year's event will be held
in Tallin, Estonia's capital.
Dave Benton has no Eurovision experience but has worked with the likes of
The Drifters, Tom Jones and Billy Ocean. Tanel Padar, the other
half of the duo, did backing vocals for Estonian artist Ines in last year's event.
Britain's entry, Lindsay Dracass' No Dream Impossible only managed 28 points
putting the UK in a disappointing 15th place.
The event began in 1956 when it was held in GenËve, Switzerland. West Germany, France, Italy,
Holland, Belgium and Luxembourg and Switzerland all entered.
