The Red Hot Chili Peppers have cancelled a show near Tel Aviv following the US government's warning to its citizens not to travel to Israel in the wake of the violence there.
The concert was due to take place near Tel Aviv on 28 August. Over 15,000 people had bought tickets but organisers say that they will all get their money back.
BBC Online reports that promoter Shuki Weiss told Israel Radio, "Following the urgency and the increasing consistency of the incidents over the past weekend the band was forced to reach a decision to delay their visit. The production and the activity went on until yesterday (13 August) afternoon - but I can't say that over the last weekend there weren't some fears in my heart."
The promoter hopes that the band will come to Israel when the violence has subsided. He says that they have told him that they would definitely come to Israel at a "more suitable time".
