For those of you who haven't heard of this band: they're called Crackout and they comprise of guitarist and vocalist Steven Eagles, drummer Nicholas Millard and bassist Jack Dunkley.
The band see AC/DC, the Cure, Weezer and Jimmy Eat World as their favourite bands. They're not nu-metal, they're a British rock band, part of the current resurgence of rock music.
This album, according to bassist Jack, is a presentation of who the band are.
So let's have a listen.
Opening is the riff-lead 142, a rapid opener that leads into the next, more 'inspired' track, I Am The One. This one has its own unique riff with a memorable compared to other tracks on the debut long-player chorus. A definite highlight, should have been the first single.
In track three, Joey Lost His Mind, the band open in the style of Safri Duo (remember that awful drum record?). But they quickly get back to strumming their guitars to those three chords. However, what's wrong with simplistic guitar music? It's rock.
Volume is very different. Here's a decent, non-generic, rock track that is before you make it to fifty seconds though. At that point it's straight for the fast strumming.
The first single to be lifted from the album was You Dumb Fuck, good but not very memorable, as rock music should be.
It's definitely promising stuff, the band just need to work on some diversity; unless, you're okay with the 'standard' rock music.
