The Brit Awards took place yesterday in London. Even though Craig David didn't
win any awards he still dominated the ceremony; Elton John said, "If there's a better
singer in England than Craig David then I'm Margaret Thatcher." U2 dedicated
One to Craig, at the end of which Bono sung Craig's Walking Away.
Craig himself took to the stage for a performance of Fill Me In with a cheeky lyric
change to "Six nominations - no Brits for CD."
Noel Gallagher presented U2 with their Best International Group award, he
said, "This awards ceremony has often been accused of not having a sense of humour. But when
you see who they've awarded Best British Newcomer to (A1), you know they're taking the
piss."
Robbie Williams picked up three awards taking his total to a record twelve, including four with
Take That. Robbie won Best British Male Artist, Best Single and
Best Video for Rock DJ.
Eminem joked at his defeat at the Grammys: "Wow...and the winner is Steely Dan.
Who the f**k is Steely Dan?" He won Best International Male Solo Artist.
Presenters, And & Dec did suffer some abuse from Fun Lovin Criminals' Huey - who
labelled the pair "f**ing Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum."
